After a year and a half of dialysis, Angelica was ready for the most significant operation she had ever undergone- her kidney transplant. The kidney she would receive from her mom. Angelica and her mother had a successful kidney surgery on 13 September 2013. The surgery was performed at Emory University Hospital and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Egleston, two hospitals that are located next to each other.
